Infrastructure (See Pics)
After operating out of a rented building for more than one year in 2003-04, Parivaar could first purchase its own land in December ’04 and since then infrastructure has continuously developed. At present, Parivaar has 2 main campuses and 4 other satellite centres, and is spread over an area of 15 acres (600,000 sq ft).
Infrastructure Work accomplished till now
- 7000 Sq. Ft Residential Block for children : This new Bal-Sadan Block is now providing accommodation to 100 children and had been built in 2006 at a cost of Rs. 30 Lacs. It is divided into 8 halls (4 Study halls and 4 Bed-halls) and has 32 toilets / bathrooms within it.
- Three Bal Sadans (each 1030 sq. ft. in area ) having a Living Hall, Study Hall, Caretaker’s room, store, bathrooms and toilets were built in 2005. Cost incurred 3.75 Lacs x 3 = Rs. 11.25 Lacs.
- Annapurna Bhavan ( 1825 sq. ft. in area ). Built in 200, it is composed of spacious dinning arena for more than 200 diners, Kitchen arena, and Kitchen & accessories store. Cost incurred = Rs. 7.5 Lacs..
- Prathana Bhavan [ 1650 sq. ft. in area ] Built in 2005 and Cost incurred = 6.5 Lacs.
- Sevak Sadan (Triple-Storeyed): First 2 storeys built in 2006 and then third storeyed put up in 2010. 9 rooms for resident gent workers (which are mostly shared by two persons). Cost incurred = 14 Lacs.
- Guest Rooms (2 rooms with toilets - 750 sq. ft. in area]. Cost Rs 2.75 Lacs. Two–Storeyed Balika Sadan No. 1 : (2300 sq. ft in area ) Costs Rs 9 Lacs.
- Two-Storeyed Bal-Sadan : (2300 sq. ft. in area) Built in 2005 Costs Rs 10 Lacs.
- Two-Storeyed Bal-Sadan : (2300 sq. ft. in area) Built in 2006 Costs Rs 10 Lacs..
- Two-Storeyed Bal-Sadan : (2300 sq. ft. in area) Built in 2006 Costs Rs 10 Lacs.
- Computer Lab & Library Block. The area of this Hall is 1800 sq. ft. and has been constructed at a cost of Rs 8 Lacs in 2006.
- Multi-Activity Hall (for Teleison viewing, table-tennis, dance and music, arts and crafts workshops that are conducted on weekends. Its area is 1600 Sq. ft. and has been built with a cost of Rs 7 Lacs in 2006
- Study-Hall for private study of higher grade students. Its area is 1600 Sq. ft. and has been built with a cost of Rs 11 Lacs in 2010..
- A 6 Room Block serving as Sick-Bay, Medical Section and for Resident Sister-Workers of the Ashram. Costs Rs 5 Lacs..
- 30,000 Litre capacity Overhead Tank built in 2006 at a cost of Rs 3 Lacs.
- Administrative and Village Service Complex : Two-storeyed, built in 2008 at a cost of Rs 12 Lacs.
- Parivaar Nivedita House Residential Block : Rs 17 Lacs
- Parivaar Family Guest-House : Rs 4 Lacs
Parivaar Girls' Residential Campus
Land for Girls Campus : Rs 65 Lacs (Construction currently going on)
Parivaar procured land (150,000 sq. ft.) and costing Rs 65 Lacs for the separate Girls Campus in February ’08. It is about 1 km away from our present Parivaar Ashram premises. This Girls’ Residential Campus shall be run on a day-to-basis only by women Seva-vratis of Parivaar.
First Phase construction for 250 girl inmates (and about 20 other resident Seva-Vratis) has commenced from September ’09 and target date of completion is July ’11.
The campus is being divided into two parts. First one would be exclusively for girl inmates and Parivaar women Seva-vratis. This is being called ‘The Inner Campus’. There shall be a second part which will be the ‘Outside Arena’ for external interface and where some essential gent workers shall be accommodated (like a senior Parivaar Seva-vrati for guiding the sister-workers when such guidance is needed, staff for making purchases and doing external interface work, emergency personnel like maintenance workers, driver, master-cook etc. These personnel shall be restricted only to the ‘Outside arena’ and shall not be allowed inside in general circumstances.
The Inner campus
A. Residential Block (3 Storeyed)
Area: 3600*3 = 10,800 Sq ft. (having 12 Halls and about 36 toilets/bathrooms. For accommodating 200 girls.
Costs of Construction : Rs 700 * 10,800 = 75.6 Lacs.
This whole bock will have 6 parts. Each single part can be separately sponsored.
B. Dining Hall (This has to be constructed keeping in view at least 400 children for possibilities of future expansion in order to avoid future shortage of space in future). Construction has been just completed.
Area: 3000 Sq ft
Costs: Rs 700* 3300 = Rs 23.1 Lacs.
C. Kitchen and Kitchen Stores
Area: 700 Sq Ft
This will be attached to the Dining Hall. This has already been completed.
Costs: Rs 700* 700 = Rs 4.9 Lacs.
D. Reading Hall & Library
Area: 3300 Sq ft
This will be on the first floor of the Dining Hall building thus the same structure.
Costs: Rs 700* 3300 = Rs 23.1 Lacs.
E. Medical Block (having one sick room with toilet / bathroom, one resident Nurse’s room, one Doctor’s Inspection Room and medical section)
Area: 800 Sq Ft
Costs: Rs 700* 800 = Rs 5.6 Lacs.
Outside Arena
A. Three Staff Living Rooms (3*250 sq ft)
Area: 4*250 sq ft = 1000 Sq Ft
Costs: Rs 700* 1000 = Rs 7 Lacs.
B. Security-Rooms, Office, and Waiting Room (3*250 sq ft)
Area: 4*250 sq ft = 1000 Sq Ft
Costs: Rs 700* 1000 = Rs 7 Lacs.
D. Meeting Room
Area: 800 Sq Ft
Costs: Rs 700* 800 = Rs 5.6 Lacs.
E. Shiksha Sadan (2 Storeyed)
This will have 12 Tutorial-Rooms where the After-School Tutorials shall be conducted for the girl students.
Area: 12 * 200 Sq Ft = 2400 sq. ft.
Costs: Rs 700* 2400 = Rs 16.8 Lacs.
Overhead Tank (30,000 litre capacity) : Rs 10 Lacs. (Completed)
Boundary Wall, Sanitary and Sewage Systems and other Miscelleaneous Expenses : Rs 30 Lacs
