Parivaar : A Brief Fact Sheet

  • 332 erstwhile homeless and destitute children have found a new Home, Family ,and Future at Parivaar Ashram since its staring in December ‘03.

  • There are currently 75 Seva-Vratis working at the Ashram in various tasks. There are 30 Resident Ashramite workers, most of whom are Jeevan-Vratis (life-dedicated) workers, with their lives dedicated to Parivaar’s mission of service.

  • All children admitted in Parivaar’s own high quality formal School ‘Amar Bharat Vidyapeeth’ and other good Formal Schools through Competitive Entrance Tests. Most of them are performing commendably, matching shoulder to shoulder with any other children from educated background and educated families.

  • Special Emphasis on character-building and value-orientation with a spiritual basis. 24 hour learning and Development encompassing dimensions of Man-Making and Character-Building, manifesting the unlimited possibilities and potential with each inmate and thus transforming the lives of everyone at Parivaar. .

  • Continuous pursuit of academic excellence despite heavy initial backlog (due to non-exposure to education for first 8-10 years of life) Computer Education, Spoken English, Broadening knowledge horizons, and other skills and trainings provided right from early age.

  • More than 500 IIM (Indian Institute of Management) alumni are enrolled as regular Parivaar donors. They represent one of the most thoughtful Indians and their ever-increasing support to Parivaar shows tremendous impact the present work, driving spirit and tremendous future potential of Parivaar has had on them.

  • Further Infrastructure Development of Parivaar Ashram spread over 3 acres of land with capacity of 500 children is in progress.

  • Development of a separate Girls’ Residential institution to be started in March ’08. This will be a separate campus gradually developed for a capacity of 500 destitute girls.

  • Funds collected at zero fund-raising cost (funds raised totally by persons and well-wishers who have turned into dedicated volunteers for supporting Parivaar). There is no outgoing fund-raising done through events or publicity campaigns. In fact there is no Parivaar worker with the role of publicity / fund-raising. It is our strong conviction (which has been now validated through experience) that work done with the spirit of Tyaga and Seva attracts sensitive persons to this Bhava. Parivaar is blessed to have increasing base of sensitive persons who have identified with the pulse of Parivaar’s mission and are long-term supporters of Parivaar’s work. Each individual donor and visitor to Parivaar turns into its mission-campaigner.

  • 90% of the total financial support of Parivaar met through financial contributions from individuals.
